I *heart* U

Thomas has been busy with work on the weekends lately so I spend much of my weekends staying at home crafting, and taking pictures of Bear. I read an article once about how to make the best of your point and shoot camera. It mentioned not using the flash and using natural light whenever possible. Also, they said to play around with your settings to find what works best for you. You can learn a lot from reading the manual, if you can find the time...or the manual! hah. So, Saturday before last and just this past Saturday Bear and I had a little photo shoot by the window. I bought some felt to make my little topiary and had some left over so I decided to make some Valentine crafty things. I was originally just making a heart (with some other red left over fabric) then added the "I" and "U" and was going to just sit it on the table or shelf or whatever. Then I realized they were Bear sized and thought I'd see if I could get a cute Valentine picture. The quality of the pictures isn't that great. Kinda grainy. Kinda frustrating. I used photoshop.com to try and edit some. Basically I hit the auto fix button then cropped if I needed.

Valentine topiary

In a previous post I showed pictures of cute Valentine's wreaths. One wreath was from the blog The Idea Room. The Idea Room also made a Valentine's Topiary. Which I thought was cute too! Here's hers pictured below.

So I decided to make one. Here it is sitting on my desk at work. (plug for Verizon: I took this picture with my Droid phone, it has a 5mp camera, pretty good huh?)

I also finished my heart wreath last night, and started on some other fun Valentine's crafts.

one last thing. where did the spell (i seriouisly just typed "speel") check button go? I switched to the new blogger posting thingy several weeks ago and I thought maybe the spell check was built in like Word. But I think not. Anybody know how to spell check posts? Thanks!

5 months old

Bear is 5 months old today!
Smiling more and cooing more. Eating 5ozs every 3 to 4 hours. Sleeping a stretch of 6 hours during the night. Wearing size two diapers only because we're running low on ones and thought we'd see how he fits in the twos we got as a baby shower gift.
He was 11lbs just before Christmas.

I feel like I'm going to turn around and he'll be one!!!

I setup near a window so natural light could flood in instead of using a flash. He was very cooperative and I'm excited I got some good photos. He's just the cutest little baby!
