"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works,so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Eph 2:8-10Thomas and I met at Baylor University while rowing with the Crew team. We married July of 2005 and our son Sean was born August 2009. We enjoy traveling and feel very blessed to have been able to go where we've gone. We desire to live every day to it's fullest and glorify God while we are here on Earth.
About the title: That's Life. A song by Frank Sinatra. In high school I was introduced to Frank and quickly found a favorite song, That's Life. It doesn't really reflect the theme of our lives but I like the beat, the tune and of course Franks voice, that's all. The one thing I could take from the song is "this fine ol' world keeps spinning around." Because it does. God keeps His arms wrapped around us, rain or shine, tribulations or successes. Jesus will be my King, my Savior, my Father, for eternity, even when the world does stop spinning.
Here's the lyrics just for funsies...
That's life, that's what all the people say.
You're riding high in April,
Shot down in May
But I know I'm gonna change that tune,
When I'm back on top, back on top in June.
I said that's life, and as funny as it may seem
Some people get their kicks,
Stompin' on a dream
But I don't let it, let it get me down,
'Cause this fine ol' world it keeps spinning around
I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate,
A poet, a pawn and a king.
I've been up and down and over and out
And I know one thing:
Each time I find myself, flat on my face,
I pick myself up and get back in the race.
That's life
I tell ya, I can't deny it,
I thought of quitting baby,
But my heart just ain't gonna buy it.
And if I didn't think it was worth one single try,
I'd jump right on a big bird and then I'd fly
I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate,
A poet, a pawn and a king.
I've been up and down and over and out
And I know one thing:
Each time I find myself laying flat on my face,
I just pick myself up and get back in the race
That's life
That's life and I can't deny it
Many times I thought of cutting out
But my heart won't buy it
But if there's nothing shakin' come this here july
I'm gonna roll myself up in a big ball and die
My, My
