Week recap

Here is a recap of our week through the lens of my phone.

Going all the way back to Saturday:
Hanging out with Seanskee.

Silly boy. He pushed and pulled himself (with his legs/ feet) around in his Tonka truck.

And just for fun here is a collage of my kids sitting in/ on cars:

Sunday:
giggles at bedtime

Monday:
I hit up the local kids resale shop and found these for Kayla.
Ralph Lauren dress $14
OshKosh B' gosh onesie $3
Old Navy Skirt $6
And a fuzzi bunz diaper for $8! adding just one more cloth diaper to the rotation is helpful! (Not everyone recommends buying used cloth diapers because previous baby could have had funky diaper rash/ fungus, but were taking our chances here)

We got home well past lunch time so quickie food was in order. And a little Thomas the Train viewing for being a good boy while out and about.

I'm pretty proud of the fact that I get both kiddos to nap at the same time. Sean naps once a day for about two hours and Kayla's long nap is at the same time as Sean's. So Monday I worked on a sewing project!

Tuesday:
Sean played at a friends while Kayla and I ran errands and shopped.
We went to the mall to get batteries replaced in dad's watches and found ourselves at Forever XXI. No more Gap or Express for me. I like gap clothes but too $$$, and express has too much glitter/ tight/ cleavage clothes. ( no offense if Express is your fav, heh heh* awkward laugh* :/) Some people may feel being over the age of 21 is too old to shop at Forever XXI, but not this gal. Their selection is a little overwhelming at times but the price is right!

After picking Sean up the rain came down hard. Trying to shuffle two inside the house in rain ( with no gutter to catch rain spilling off roof into walk-way) was daunting, so we tried to wait it out. Dad pulled up in the driveway just as someone was anxiously wanting out of their car seat! Yay!
The rest of Tuesday night we were singing "forever young" repeatedly. You know " forever young, i want to be forever young, do you really want to live forever, forever, forever" sang in a sexy falsetto voice, by Thomas.

That night We taught Sean to walk on Daddy's back! Good boy!

Thursday:
In the morning I did a few lessons/ activities from a Pre-schoolers book we got from Mardel's Christian book store. I have to adapt the lessons to what we have on hand. This lesson called for putting items in colored boxes but construction paper worked for us. And I added green cause Sean is smart like that :D

There was also an activity of putting lids on containers so I just pulled down some various tupperware.

A friend of ours gave us a children's bible and Sean brought it to me. It's thicker than his other two bibles and has longer stories, which is nice.

Hello shadow. Makes me think of peter pan sewing his shadow to his toes.

Friday:
Low key morning of playing and being silly.

That's our week! Have a good weekend!!

This week

Last Saturday we went to the park to walk trails. Sean loves running with dad.

Then later that day we went to the mall to find some new glasses for mom. Thomas found some for Sean to try on. So cute!

Sunday night Sean's cousins came over while their patents went on a date. We ate s'mores in the back yard, had a dance party with glow sticks and built a fort in the living room...then crashed during a movie.

Kayla enjoys watching Sean play.
I enjoy that Kayla can be entertained by Sean!

Tuesday was a lazy day.

Wednesday we started back at BSF ( bible study fellowship). I had such a hard time getting all the weekly homework done last semester and we missed so many classes. But I'm glad we're going and Sean enjoys his class too. After BSF we came home for lunch.
Spaghetti- O mess:

Kayla before Wed. night church.

Thursday we played with Play-doh again.

We found our keys that had been missing since the week after Xmas! They were just sitting here by the wipers, crazy!

Thursday we took another trip to the park in this unusually warm weather.

We picked up my glasses after and I'm not positive i like them :/ i have a narrow head, narrow set eyes and terrible vision so finding a good looking pair is difficult.
Oh well too late now!

Mmm... Good stuff:

Friday we stayed in again. Sean chewed on and played with some of Kayla's toys, so funny.

Sean found Kayla's bow and tried putting it on her head :)

They day is not over yet and i have high hopes of going to Joann's and Hobby Lobby!

Have a great weekend!!

This weeks happenings through iPhone pics

I found these cute thank you notes from Hobby Lobby. Since Sean's hand writing is quite sloppy I gave him stamps and let him stamp the names.

Kayla tried rice cereal for the first time. She did just turn 6 months old but with the whole 2 months premature thing she is like a 4 month old regarding food stuff. In case you wondered.

Finally got our Christmas tree taken down. That's a record for our house. We didn't get back in town till the 5th and then things just didn't slow down. There is a sad empty corner now.

Kayla just being cute.

Yummy. Starbucks Instant brew Via Iced coffee packets ( or whatever it's called)+ vanilla almond milk+ sugar cookie creamer

We haven't been to Cracker Barrel in a long time and I was craving a good country breakfast. We went last night and it was so crowded, on a thursday! Maybe because it was turkey and dressing night? Haha

29 months

Today, January 12, Sean is 29 months old!
Sean jibber-jabbers a lot, which is quite entertaining. Many of his words are clear but there are still many that require a parents interpretation. And even still we don't always know what he's saying. While on vacation recently he would say what sounded like "chick in the car." He'd say it fast and repeatedly. I have no idea what he is really saying. I figure it's something similar to what he's heard in a Thomas the Train video.
Early this month we gave Sean and Kayla a bath together for the first time. As soon as we put Kayla in she started giggling at Sean, and he joined in. So cute! So cute it made me cry and feel silly for being upset just moments before at something trivial. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to put the Bumbo in the bath tub. Ha! Just make sure you don't step away for even a second and keep your hand nearby. It's buoyant so if you have lightweight kids like mine they float a bit.
Sean has taken to eating meat again. For a while there he wouldn't eat meat unless it was coated in fried goodness. He still isn't excited about hot dogs but will devour grilled chicken, fish sticks and sausage.
Sean is a big fan of Thomas the Train. I'm quite alright with this and prefer the Thomas show over any others I've seen. (we don't have cable so I can't speak for any of those shows) the show doesn't use any bad words, bad for 2 years olds. They say "silly" instead of stupid, when describing how a train feels after making a mistake or is embarrassed. And "cross" instead of angry or mad. Anyway, Sean is smitten with Thomas the Train and I hope we can take him to A Day Out With Thomas event this Spring.
He still enjoys playing with his Cars characters but we haven't watched the movie in a month or so. While at my moms Sean caught an episode of sesame street. They were teaching up and down. Sean was familiar with the words but later that day he was saying up and down a lot. I think I like sesame street! But I've never seen in on tv here. Not sure we even get it.
My mom bought a mini neck pillow that Sean used on our long road trip to FL but we took it inside and didn't have it on our drive out the the ranch. So we improvised with a little help from Ernie. Ernie was my brothers growing up. Sean snatched it while at my moms house.
People ask how Sean does with Kayla. He is mostly indifferent. He doesn't mind her being close or touching him. He does give her kisses on her head when prompted. And when she is lying on the floor he likes to lay down next to her. He brings her toys or blankets every once in a while. As she becomes more mobile I'm sure their relationship will change a bit.

New Years Day in FL

New Years day we visited my grandmother (mom's mom) at her nursing home. Then stopped by the beach on our way home. The last time our little family was at the beach together was last summer. So it was nice to see the sand and water of Pensacola again.
Pensacola beach has super white, fine-grained sand.
Dad and Sean
Sean wanting nothing to do with the sand.

Kayla slept through the whole thing
Uncle Peter trying to show him the sand is fun
