my boys in blue

Dad was in blue. Bear was blue head to toe, including his eyes.
I have hazel eyes, Thomas has brown. Guess a grandparent is to thank for his Baby Blues.
I had blue eyes up until somewhere between age 1 and 2. Then suddenly my sister noticed they weren't blue! Maybe his will stay. Blue, green, brown, hazel...anyway he's cute!

7 months in and 7 months out!

Sean is 7 months old today! 7 months people! Can you believe it? When I was thinking about writing this post it really hit me hard, how can it have been 7 months already?! Unbelievable.

the day he came home from the NICU
all 5 lbs of him (minus one sock)

Sean recently began grabbing his feet. He sometimes rolls to his side and occasionally rolls to his back. He rolled to his back for the first time when he was 2 months old, which we caught on video, shortly after coming home from the NICU. That must have been a fluke because he didn’t do much rolling after that. Also, more recently he can hold a 4 ounce bottle, not the big ones though. He loves being in his activity jumper thing-a-ma-jig. He usually faces the frog that can spin on the pole it sits on. He’ll hit it again and again to make the frog spin. There is also a mirror under the frog that Sean admires him self in. There a little piano keys like side that lghts up and plays music, he his that sometimes, accidently. The other toys on the activity center are more “grab the flower on a bendy pole to chew on” but he doesn’t really do that yet. So most of his days are spent with froggy. And he’s just now getting to the point where his toes can reach the ground. Before he had a pillow under his feet.

February 15, 2010 (6 months)

He can sit on his own for a few seconds and then it’s time for a face plant. Don’t worry quick reflexes daddy is there to save his face. His progress is amazing and it’s so fun to see. So much happens/changes/grows in the first year.

He laughs more and more. Mostly when I lay him on the couch to change his diaper and wiggle him or pump his legs. He loves that and giggles up a storm. Sometimes when you tickle his neck he giggles or when I wipe his neck with a baby wipe. So cute. He also talks, well coos, but Thomas and I call it talking. When in the car or just randomly throughout the day, we talk back, it’s fun. When in public he just observes everything and doesn’t talk much or laugh. He’ll smile, but if you’re not dad you have to work for it. He seems to be getting more comfortable and familiar with church and the people. I’m sure he will soon open up and show his uber cuteness to all.

Sean's first tractor ride, well tractor sit

He had his 6 month shots at the beginning of March. They were delayed because he was sick during his 6 month well baby check up. He weighed in at 13lbs. And took his five shots like a champ, then passed out in the car seat. He did much better this time with the effects of the shots. After his 4 month shots he had a fever. We did give him a little baby Tylenol before the 6 month shots so maybe that helped. Or maybe just being older his body dealt with the onslaught of shots better. Either way, he did well!

in the waiting room

He can still fit in some 0-3/3 month clothes. So people when you prepare for baby don’t over load on the clothes cause little one could surprise you and not fit in what you think he/she will for that season. Make sense?  I had no idea they made 1-2 diapers (one dash two), like in between size 1 and 2. There were boxes at Sam’s and I thought they were 1’s and 2’s. And Sean wasn’t fitting in two yet so I passed. But Sam’s didn’t carry just size 1’s, bummer. Then good ol target had a ginormo box of those ‘one dash two’ diapers on clearance. Why they were on clearance I don’t know. Packaging change? No longer selling the in between size? Anywho, we snatched those up and found out they were the lovely 1-2 size diapers. And they’re perfect cause 1’s are too small, and 2’s are too big. Thus Sean wear’s diaper size 1-2, thrilling, huh?

Even though Sean has been around for 7 months I’m still putting his nursery together! I put his name up on the wall. Which I have always thought was an odd thing. For one, every nursery picture online has the baby name on the wall. Is that a relatively new thing? Did I have my name on my wall growing up? Does baby need to know it’s his/her room so that he doesn’t crawl in to the wrong room? Do parents often forget there child’s name and need a reminder? Just teasing of course. It’s terribly cute having their name on the wall, that’s why I did it too.

Phew. Sorry for the long post.

So, to conclude Sean is 7 months old and growing fast.

He grew in me for seven months, and has now been outside the oven for as long as he’s been in. We are truly blessed that Sean hasn't shown any complications from being premature. I'm sure it's possible for things to show up later but so far he's just like any other full term baby.

We’re just trying to enjoy each day. So many changes, so fast, just taking it all in.

Health

How do you stay healthy? Do you even think you are healthy? I like to think I am. But truthfully I am not. Yesterday I thought I'd try to drink as much water as I do soda. I didn't drink nearly enough water to make up for the DP. When I'm active, running, which currently I'm not so much, I think I eat better. But when I do nothing I eat junk. Should be the other way around. It'd be okay to eat a little junk if I were at least active. I think we women tend to focus on the weight more than the health aspect. Truly it should be health first, right? I mean sometimes they go hand in hand. Anyway, do you have any things you do or think to keep being healthy on the forefront of your mind? Like my water=soda plan. Do you grocery shop in the produce section only? haha. Do you give yourself talks in the mirror? Does reading on the subject motivate? Or maybe what life things motivate you to be healthy? Kids, Bathing suit season, accountability, upcoming drs appointment, goals to compete in a race?

This subject came up with the husband and I recently and I think my friends are full of good ideas, tips and advice so lemme have it! Please really anything, even if you think it's odd, haha.

Peace

I've been blogged

Some one else blogged about me! hahaha. this makes me happy.
Whitney over at The Glamorous Life of a House Wife has a sweet, super cute baby named Levi. She has gathered quite a following of readers. She started it to just keep her memories and probably to keep in touch with family and then others found her blog and took an interest. And now she has nearly 800 followers. Hmmm...followers...doesn't that sound odd...to anyone outside the blog world they might think it sounds cultish. Anyhoo....I like her blog because of these elements: funny, witty, christian, positive, cooking, cleaning, cute baby, nice pictures, real, tips, ideas.

So why did she blog about me (and the reader in general)...
I travel for my job, just locally, no more than a 3 hour drive in all directions and have passed the sign for the City of Levi a few times. And this time I decided to hop out and take a pic to send to Whitney, remeber cause her little boy's name is Levi. I had emailed her once before several months ago asking about cameras and something else, can't remember, and she was so sweet. So I sent her the picture of the sign thinking she'd either A) think I was a crazy girl from Waco (the name of Waco doesn't really make you think happy thoughts!) or B) think I was some nice reader doing something crazy, hah. Well she didn't think I was  looney and really appreciated the picture. She emailed me back with a thank you and said she even blogged about it! I was grinning ear to ear, haha. I first came across her blog though Leslie's. Leslie do you know her, like in real life? haha My detective skills say you might.

It's Friday, yay!! Hope the weekend doesn't fly by!

Thinking Out Loud

So I started writing the paragraph below back in the middle of February and stopped because I figured I was weird, haha. But then Leslie's (Walking in Memphis) post prompted me to continue and post it. She mentioned that she has really enjoyed being pregnant and that if she liked motherhood as much as being preggers she might end up as a Duggar family, haha, not really. But that made me recall my earlier thoughts. sooo this is where i started my post....

Is it normal to want another baby so soon after having one?! Is it because I am surrounded by babies and pregnant ladies. Even without Facebook and the blogworld I would still feel surrounded. And for the most part the preggos share the good news and the joys of being pregnant. When I was pregnant I wondered how much of the negatives I'd remember. [Side note: (or middle of paragraph note) Pregnancy as a whole is truly a wonderful blessing. Don't get me wrong. But lets not be naive, there are some not so fun things about being pregnant. And I want to be sensitive to those that would read something like this and think "how could you say that" because they'd give anything to be pregnant. Anyone that is pregnant does take joy in the experience. Its just that everyone's story is their own. You know? It's all relative. Seems as though we all like to throw ourselves a pity party every once in a while. Which we shouldn't. But being the imperfect children of God that we are, we go ahead and complain about such a wonderful gift. (side note within the side note: I didn't read/hear anything to prompt this! just started thinking is all.) But not sure if that makes sense]...Anyway. Maybe we are supposed to forget the unpleasantness so that we will keep having babies.

okay and that's where I left off. re-reading it I see how crazy my train of thought is, oh well. So I have just been wondering if others feel the need to reproduce so soon after having a baby? haha. Is it hormonal? Do you just catch a baby bug after having one? I mean, I do have moments when Sean is screamin' his head off and schedules are altered due to having a baby, where i think...Do I really want more kids? It's not impossible, obviously many people have multiple children, even close in age, even twins, or triplets! And they manage. I'm not sure what my point is....But the thing I would like to point out is that I'm so glad I'm not in control of all this! I know that whatever/whenever/how-many-ever babies God wants us to have will happen!
