29 months

Today, January 12, Sean is 29 months old!
Sean jibber-jabbers a lot, which is quite entertaining. Many of his words are clear but there are still many that require a parents interpretation. And even still we don't always know what he's saying. While on vacation recently he would say what sounded like "chick in the car." He'd say it fast and repeatedly. I have no idea what he is really saying. I figure it's something similar to what he's heard in a Thomas the Train video.
Early this month we gave Sean and Kayla a bath together for the first time. As soon as we put Kayla in she started giggling at Sean, and he joined in. So cute! So cute it made me cry and feel silly for being upset just moments before at something trivial. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to put the Bumbo in the bath tub. Ha! Just make sure you don't step away for even a second and keep your hand nearby. It's buoyant so if you have lightweight kids like mine they float a bit.
Sean has taken to eating meat again. For a while there he wouldn't eat meat unless it was coated in fried goodness. He still isn't excited about hot dogs but will devour grilled chicken, fish sticks and sausage.
Sean is a big fan of Thomas the Train. I'm quite alright with this and prefer the Thomas show over any others I've seen. (we don't have cable so I can't speak for any of those shows) the show doesn't use any bad words, bad for 2 years olds. They say "silly" instead of stupid, when describing how a train feels after making a mistake or is embarrassed. And "cross" instead of angry or mad. Anyway, Sean is smitten with Thomas the Train and I hope we can take him to A Day Out With Thomas event this Spring.
He still enjoys playing with his Cars characters but we haven't watched the movie in a month or so. While at my moms Sean caught an episode of sesame street. They were teaching up and down. Sean was familiar with the words but later that day he was saying up and down a lot. I think I like sesame street! But I've never seen in on tv here. Not sure we even get it.
My mom bought a mini neck pillow that Sean used on our long road trip to FL but we took it inside and didn't have it on our drive out the the ranch. So we improvised with a little help from Ernie. Ernie was my brothers growing up. Sean snatched it while at my moms house.
People ask how Sean does with Kayla. He is mostly indifferent. He doesn't mind her being close or touching him. He does give her kisses on her head when prompted. And when she is lying on the floor he likes to lay down next to her. He brings her toys or blankets every once in a while. As she becomes more mobile I'm sure their relationship will change a bit.

  1. Seasme Street is on PBS. I'm sure you can get it without cable, but I have no clue which channel. Maybe channel 13?
